Immediate Open Hole Toe Valve

“Quick Start” Design

Product Overview

The Immediate Open Hole Toe Valve is a hydraulically actuated toe initiation solution engineered to eliminate TCP-related risks while enabling a clean, reliable first-stage injection path. Designed for pressure integrity, it allows multiple low-pressure tests prior to activation and provides a large, debris-tolerant flow area for dependable frac initiation.

Key Features

  • Multiple low-pressure casing tests allowed prior to opening
  • Opens upward and is held open by snap ring, hydraulic pressure, and Morse taper
  • Adjustable activation pressure with rupture discs accurate to ±2%
  • Large-area flow ports reduce debris accumulation and plugging risks
  • Optional ball seat enables DFIT prior to stimulation

Applications & Drilling Scenarios

  • Multistage hydraulic fracturing programs
  • Horizontal shale and tight reservoir developments
  • Wells requiring TCP-free toe initiation
  • Wells where high pressure integrity prior to first-stage frac is essential

Advantages

  • Eliminates TCP and wireline operations in the toe
  • Allows pressure tests below activation without jeopardizing integrity
  • Configurable for various casing programs and stimulation designs
  • Large flow-area design enhances reliability in debris-prone environments

Compatibility

  • Standard cemented and open-hole liner systems
  • Completions requiring DFIT capability (optional ball seat)
  • Multistage plug-and-perf or ball-drop systems

Certifications & Quality Assurance

Manufactured to Frontier Oil Tools’ quality program with API-compliant materials and traceability. (Additional certifications available on request.)
