Frontier International Achieves API Spec 16RCD Qualification Across All Three Categories
March 2026 —
Frontier International achieved API Specification 16RCD qualification across all three applicable categories, marking an important technical milestone for the company’s rotary control device (RCD) portfolio.
API Spec 16RCD establishes requirements for rotating control devices used in drilling operations. Achieving qualification across all three categories expands the formal technical basis supporting Frontier’s RCD technology and its application in managed pressure drilling (MPD) operations.
The qualification complements Frontier’s growing RCD operating history and continued development of pressure-control equipment for land and offshore drilling applications.
For Frontier, the achievement represents another step in the continued qualification and commercialization of its MPD technology portfolio, combining formal industry-standard requirements with accumulated field operating experience.
