Frontier Oil Tools Completes 40 US Well Completion Operations in 2020
HOUSTON, Texas — September 2020 —
Frontier Oil Tools completed 40 well completion operations in the United States during the first nine months of 2020. The work covered 10 customers across five principal operating areas: South Texas, the Permian Basin, the Mid-Continent region, North Dakota, and the Powder River Basin.
The milestone was achieved during a period of significant market disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and lower demand for petroleum products. Against that background, US operators were placing increased emphasis on capital discipline, operational efficiency, and the total cost of well construction and completion.
Frontier Oil Tools supplied completion technologies and field services for drilling, production, and injector/SWD liner applications. Its portfolio also included swell, production, inflatable, and storm packers, together with toe sleeves and frac plugs.
In May 2020, the company completed API 19LH V1 and V0 testing of its proprietary 4½-in x 7-in F1 liner hanger packer. The test recorded zero gas leakage with a gas-tight seal, qualifying the packer to the stated API 19LH grades.
Frontier Oil Tools also outlined a broader qualification program covering eight additional liner hanger packer configurations under API 19LH V0, V1, and V2 requirements during 2020 and 2021. Together with the company’s API Spec Q1® manufacturing certification, the program supported the continued development and qualification of its completion equipment portfolio.
The combination of a growing US operating record and continued product qualification demonstrated the company’s focus on providing completion systems designed around operational reliability, execution efficiency, and cost control.
