Remote Measurement Systems Achieves ISO 9001:2015, API Spec Q1 and API Spec Q2 Certifications
ABERDEEN, Scotland — March 2020 —
Remote Measurement Systems Limited (RMS) completed certification audits for ISO 9001:2015, API Specification Q1, and API Specification Q2, extending its quality-management framework across the development, manufacture, servicing, and operation of drilling and measurement equipment.
The certified scope covered research and development, design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, repair and maintenance, as well as the provision of rental equipment and operational services.
ISO 9001:2015 established the broader quality-management framework, including requirements relating to risk-based thinking and process control. API Spec Q1 and API Spec Q2 added oil-and-gas-specific requirements applicable to equipment manufacturing and service delivery.
As part of the certification process, RMS demonstrated documented controls covering:
- design, development, and engineering;
- risk management;
- contingency planning;
- management of change;
- supply-chain management;
- employee competency and training;
- quality procedures and documentation.
Achieving the three certifications provided a common quality-management framework for RMS across both its manufacturing and service activities and formalized the controls applied throughout the lifecycle of its drilling and measurement technologies.
