ARABIAN PENINSULA — May 2026 —

NewTech Services Middle East completed a 4,900-ft, 12-in vertical section in a single run at an exploration field in the Arabian Peninsula. The bottom-hole assembly combined a 9⅝-in Hydrobur-Service positive displacement motor (PDM) with measurement-while-drilling (MWD) and gamma-ray (GR) services, delivering an average rate of penetration (ROP) of 70.8 ft/hr while maintaining continuous downhole data acquisition to the 9⅝-in casing point.

The section crossed challenging formations and required sustained drilling and telemetry performance over 69.25 drilling hours. The achieved average ROP was approximately 5% higher than the previous field benchmark.

Performance Highlights

  • 4,900 ft drilled in one vertical section run
  • 70.8 ft/hr average ROP
  • Approximately 5% faster than the previous field benchmark
  • 69.25 drilling hours to the 9⅝-in casing point
  • Continuous MWD and GR data acquisition throughout the interval

Extended vertical sections require the motor, BHA, hydraulics, vibration management, and telemetry system to perform as an integrated drilling system. For this operation, the combined engineering approach enabled the team to maintain drilling efficiency while preserving formation-evaluation and directional data throughout the run.

The result established a new field performance reference for the section and demonstrated the ability of Hydrobur-Service motor technology and NewTech Services Middle East’s drilling and MWD capabilities to deliver both footage and data continuity in a demanding exploration environment.
