Frontier International Delivers Third Deepwater RCD Bearing, Expanding Offshore Track Record

Frontier International delivered its third deepwater rotary control device (RCD) bearing for deployment on the West Auriga, continuing the expansion of the company’s offshore managed pressure drilling (MPD) technology track record.
The bearing was supplied for the West Auriga, which operates offshore Brazil. The delivery follows two previous deepwater bearing projects completed by Frontier over the past three years.
Frontier delivered its first deepwater bearing in August 2023 for the West Polaris, operating offshore Brazil. A second bearing followed in April 2025 for the West Neptune, supporting offshore operations.
The August 2026 delivery to the West Auriga marks the third application of Frontier’s deepwater bearing technology and extends the operating history of the equipment across multiple offshore drilling programs.
Deepwater RCD bearings operate as part of the pressure-control system used in offshore MPD applications. Each additional deployment expands the field experience supporting the technology and contributes to the continued development of Frontier’s offshore pressure-control portfolio.
The progression from the first delivery in 2023 to three deepwater bearing projects by 2026 reflects the growing application of Frontier’s RCD technology in offshore drilling environments and strengthens the company’s operating base for future deepwater MPD projects.
