Frontier Oil Tools Hold Down Sub Enters Field Trials in Australia
AUSTRALIA — 2026 —
Frontier Oil Tools has begun field trials of its 5½-in × 7-in Hold Down Sub in Australia, evaluating the tool in slotted-liner applications where the liner must remain securely positioned during electric submersible pump (ESP) repair operations.
The Hold Down Sub is being run as part of the slotted-liner system to help maintain liner position while ESP repair work is carried out. The application is intended to address the risk of liner movement during intervention activities and provide additional mechanical stability during the repair process.
The Australian field trials represent the next stage in evaluating the tool under operating conditions and will provide practical experience with the Hold Down Sub in this specific completion and intervention application.
The trial program also expands Frontier Oil Tools’ field experience with completion technologies designed to support well integrity and operational control during downhole intervention activities.
